Chapter Executives

President - kyle patterson

Kyle is the Park Services Manager for the City of Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs department. Since graduating from Penn State, he has spent time at Towson University and Georgia Tech. He has previously served as the Parks and Recreation representative for the chapter.

Vice President - Nick Pappas

Since graduating with a degree in Turfgrass Management from the University of Massachusetts, Nick has spent time working in Miami for the Dolphins and Marlins and has since relocated to Atlanta to manage the playing surface for Falcons and United FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. His experience has earned him the opportunities to work on some of sports biggest events including multiple Super Bowls, MLS Cup, Gold Cup, NCAA Football National Championship, MLB All-Star game and more.

Treasurer - Mike Watson

Mike is currently the head groundskeeper for Atlanta United, and has been since their inception in 2017. Prior to relocating to Atlanta, Mike spent time at LSU and the Philadelphia Eagles. Mike has a masters in Turfgrass Management from Penn State. He has previously served as the president of the chapter from 2021-2023.

Secretary - Parker McGlone

Parker is the Grounds Manager at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Prior to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Parker worked for Precision Turf at 5/3rd Bank Stadium at Kennesaw State University and on the baseball and softball fields at Florida State University. He received his degree in Turf Management from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

tREY cRAYBILL - pROFESSIONAL sPORTS rEPresentative

Trey is the Vice President of SubAir Systems. He works with sports stadiums and practice facilities both domestically and internationally to help turf managers and organizations maximize the performance of their playing surfaces.

sCOTT sARRATt - cOLLEGE Athletics rEPresentative

Scott is the Assistant Director of Athletic Grounds at Georgia Tech. He previously had a short stint with Georgia Gwinnett College and a 7-year run at Georgia State prior to arriving on the Flats.

Adam Russell - Commercial Representative

Adam Russell is the Vice President of MVP Genetics. He worked previously in sports turf, golf course construction, & golf course maintenance. A UGA graduate & 12-year turfgrass industry veteran, he resides in Cumming with his wife Sarah & their 3 children.

Jake Mays - k-12 rEPresentative

Jake is the Grounds and Athletic Fields Manager at The Westminster Schools. Prior to moving to Georgia he was a Minor League Head Groundskeeper and worked in athletic field construction out of Raleigh, NC. A Graduate of Virginia Tech Jake resides in Atlanta with his fiance Bailie and their dog Turf.

Matt Ellerbee - Parks and Recreation Representative

Matt is the Equipment Mechanic for the Cherokee County Parks and Recreation department.

Gerald Henry, PhD - Education Representative

Dr. Henry is the Athletic Association Endowed Professor of Environmental Turfgrass Science at the University of Georgia. He is the advisor to the undergraduate Turfgrass Management major and the director of the Athens Turfgrass Research and Education Center.
